Description: This is a grouping of seven pill boxes. The boxes are constructed of wood and contain a large number of pills. They are nicely illustrated with paper prints glued to the box. The boxes are oval, 2 1/4“x 1“x 3/4”. The Moffat’s pills were surrounded by controversy. They date back to 1835. Ayer’s pills date to 1854. The others, though not as famous have similar long histories and many were used into the twentieth century. There is another grouping on the site that is interesting and shows the variation of these items.
