Estimated Date: 1910
Name: Differential Stethoscope
Manufacturer: George Pilling

Description: 11“x 6.5“x 1.75“oak box contains standard headpiece, embossed Pilling. Two chest pieces are of the Bazzi Bianchi type but have only one hole to insert plug for tubing (one plug is present the other is a replacement) 2.5” dia, labeled Pilling P8830. Two metal probes like the standard Bianchi 2” one, but also two 7.5” L, very unusual. Rubber tubing replaced. All fit nicely in box embossed inside lid Pilling. Was probably used with the listener observing by moving each chest piece and comparing the sound in the corresponding ear with the location, so a normal area could more easily be compared with a site of abnormality.
