Name: Doan’s Kidney Pills

Description: Two examples of Doan’s Pills, one in a wooden container ( 2.5” x 1 1/8”) and the other, a later one in a metal container (2.5” x 1”). The label on the wooden container has a statement “These pills do not act on the bowels, when a laxative is required use doan’s reculets, a free sample of which is in this packate”. Both labels are signed Jos Doan. The product is mentioned in the AMA Nostrums and Quackery publication (ref 68, 69). . They are still produced today under a different name.
