Category: Bleeding and Cupping
Estimated Date: 1880
Name: Barbers Bowl (bleeding basin )

Description: 11” basin with a 6.5” well, 4” notch 2.5” deep. Classic design of the barbers basin. Hammered brass. Before the advent of physicians, these bowls were probably used both for bleeding and shaving at a time when barbers did both. The later ones, such as this, are probably just shaving bowls.
