Description: 1.7” long 0.6” wide, resembles a conventional single bladed scarifier but the tip is a hollow tube for performing vaccinations. Activated by a loop above the tube-vaccinator and released by a lever on the side. Inscribed, pat by J. W. Gordon, M.D., Jan 27, 1857, Baltimore, MD. These are commonly mistaken for bleeders can can be distinguished by the vaccinator that is a hollow tube rather than a flat blade.
