Description: 13” x 7” x 3” red leather lined box contains a finely embroidered cloth cuff, a pump made of two opposing pieces of cherry wood, connected by a bellows of the same material as the pump with an outlet to connect tubing and a screw to open and close the bellows. The manometer is in a separate box within the box. It is 10” with an ivorine scale, bulbous glass top and it has a level and folds out. Description in ref 28 in the bibliography calls this or one very similar the Surgman. In ref 31 another similar one is called the Wigmore, but the one in ref 28 is closer.
