Description: Cased set 9.5“x 4.5“x 2” leather covered box, lined with red velvet with mnf label. Contains complete set of instruments including introducer, mouth gag, remover, and gauge for sizing canula. There are 7 brass canulas of assorted sizers with obturators. Also a spool of thread by Foster and Bowman. The mouth gag has a lead mouthpiece lining. The handles are made of resin. These instruments were designed for relieving the airways at a time when there was no adequate treatment for Diphtheria. The mortality rate was quite high.
