Description: 10.5“x 6.25“x 2.25” black leatherette box contains 7 pieces including a brass base, glass funnel, alcohol lamp mounted on a brass stand which screws into the base with an extension arm, two sets of glass tubes, an ivory chamber 5” long with a window to view levels and an ivory and glass arm, which screws into this and appears to be designed for inhalation. This device, invented by Chartroule in France, was used for diseases of the lung. It was associated with claims for the cure of asthma, and was even used for the treatment of Tuberculosis.
