Description: Complex tube, Tungsten filament, serial # 55579. The tube is 22” long and has a 7” bulb. There are also two complex chambers extending from it as in the photo. This is probably a Hydrogen Tube. The 1919 Victor catalogue advertised Hydrogen, Helium and Gas tubes. Hydrogen was thought to stablize the vacuum of the tube better than other gases. Hydrogen refers to the residual gas in the tube. The Victor X Ray Corporation was founded in 1883 as the Victor Electric Corporation.It was incorporated into General Electric in 1920 and in 1930 it was replaced by the General Electric X Ray Corporation.
